If you have a league like I do, I play on-base percentage (OBP) compared to batting average (AVG). If you have the option to switching to OBP, I would greatly suggest it. There is nothing more frustrating than watching your player draw a walk and not be rewarded. In the mentality of Moneyball, it doesn’t matter how your player gets on base, it just matters that he is on base.
Since player rankings on league host sites (Yahoo/CBS/ESPN) are based on batting average, every season there are a couple players that are undervalued. Here is my list of on-base wonders that are on my radar for 2012 (Click on Image to zoom in):
