2012 Fantasy Baseball Rankings for OBP (1-50)

It’s the greatest time of year, draft season, and I am here to give you an umbrella for the storm.  I am here to give you my draft cheat sheet rankings for the 2012 fantasy baseball season.  I will be updated my rankings as information dictates, but this is my order if I was drafting today.  Please keep in mind that these that since I mainly play OBP instead of AVG, my rankings are for OBP, but hold true for both.  I will indicate if a player should be lower in AVG leagues.  I don’t like suspense so here we go:

1. Miguel Cabrera - Respect to Kemp, but Miggy is my man.  3B coming and Prince Protection.
2. Matt Kemp - Looking for 50/50 this year, if feel like those are the chances.
3. Jose Bautista - Joey Bats showed last year it wasn't a fluke and I don't trust many at a thin 3B.
4. Albert Pujols - Can't be upset about El Hombre.  Safe pick, even though switching leagues.
5. Troy Tulowitzki - Always scarce and HanRam off last year, he is the man.
6. Adrian Gonzalez - Nothing wrong with a safe first round pick.
7. Joey Votto - Same as A Gone.  Gamble later.
8. Ryan Braun - Worried about distractions, but not enough to let him slip further.
9. Robinson Cano - Position scarcity.  Yankee.  Middle of the lineup.  Draft.
10. Jacoby Ellsbury - Do I think he'll hit 32 home runs again? No, but he finished 4 in 2011 OBP leagues.
11. Evan Longoria - Shallow 3B year, sure to bounce back.
12. Prince Fielder - Finished 9 last year, but move down with league switch.
13. Carlos Gonzalez - Top 5 potential.
14. Curtis Granderson - Top 5 potential in OBP leagues.  Finished 3 last year.
15. Justin Verlander - All you want in a top arm.
16. Roy Halladay - Climbing in age, but no reason he is going to stop in 2012
17. Clayton Kershaw - Probably will finish better than Halladay, but I prefer the more tested.
18. Hanley Ramirez - HanRam to return to 1st round over Reyes all day.  He's fine with 3B move
19. Justin Upton - Not a huge fan for some reason, but this was his value last year.
20. Dustin Pedroia - Pick Pedo or Kinsler.  Dustin for consistency.
21. Ian Kinsler - Pick Pedo or Kinsler.  Ian for upside.
22. Jose Reyes - Could be a steal in new town.  Could be.
23. Mark Teixeira - Yankee.  Consistent.  Done.
24. Cliff Lee - Usually gets skipped over, but shouldn't.
25. Andrew McCutchen - Five category player, who will produce draft value.
26. CC Sabathia - Paying for Ws.  He's almost always my SP anchor.
27. Tim Lincecum - Hopefully here he's a great discount.
28. Giancarlo Stanton - Ranked 46 in OBP last year, and should be that much better.  Hey Mikey, he likes it.
29. Adrian Beltre - Stud before injury.
30. David Wright - Return to glory?  Worth the gamble, but motivation late might be a problem.
31. Felix Hernandez - Wins are still the problem, pretty much the only problem.
32. Jered Weaver - Angels are going to fun to watch, steal here if he repeats success.
33. Cole Hamels - Bitter after he burned me a few years ago, but decent stud.
34. Ryan Zimmerman - Better team around him, hopefully past injury bug.
35. Josh Hamilton - Still some uncertainty, but always the chance of a dream year again.
36. Matt Holliday - Can still play outside of COL, but no more El Hombre.  Nice OBP.
37. Dan Uggla - I'm always reaching for a potential 2nd round value at 2B.
38. Alex Rodriguez - Injuries are a problem, but I'll gamble with him over some one year wonders.
39. Hunter Pence - Found a home in PHI.
40. Dan Haren - Not a bad anchor for the price.
41. David Price - Last pitcher I want to anchor with.
42. Ben Zobrist - 2B with great OBP.  Has some history since he entered the scene.
43. Nelson Cruz - This might still be too high, but he had that one great season.
44. Desmond Jennings - I'm a little uneasy about him here, but if you like youth look no further.
45. Brett Lawrie - Same as Jennings.  At least he's a 3B.
46. Paul Konerko - You know that it's going to end, but if you don't have a 1B you might not get better.
47. Jay Bruce - Not as strong in OBP as AVG, but still finished 40 last year and should be higher.
48. Elvis Andrus - Don't love him, but nice to get a SS and some bags.
49. Zack Greinke - For the gamblers.  This is between what some will pay and lower price I will.
50. Carlos Santana - I don't personally pay for catchers, but this is where I think will be taken.

The next 50 are coming soon.
